Yeah! I can figure out that you might be thinking, isn’t it late informing about this security feature which Facebook has implemented one and a half month ago. But it’s just a push up to the ones who have missed to know about another way to secure their facebook account and to prevent unauthorized login access to their accounts. This feature is just similar to what Google had already provided with the title of 2-Step Verification for your Google account.
Don’t miss to read the drawbacks of this feature.Click here to see if this is an annoying feature more than of any use for you.
Following are simple steps to enable Login Approvals on your Facebook Account:
- Login to your Facebook Account as you normally do.
- Go to Account Settings
- Under Settings tab, click “change” following by Account Security, and enable Login approvals.
- When a popup appears, click “Set Up Now”
- Now add a mobile phone number in your facebook account.
(This step will not appear if you already have set up a mobile phone with your facebook account.)
- Grab your phone which you just (or already) have set up with your facebook account and check for the Text Message (SMS) you received containing the confirmation code. Enter the code in next step when asked. and Click “Submit Code”
- Now if the computer, where you currently are on, is not already in the recognized devices in your facebook account. You will be asked to provide a name of this computer.
- The process has been completed. Now click “Close” on next dialog.
- Make sure, to finish the the process, you need to click Save on the main settings page under Account Security section where the process started from. Also make sure that the check box is checked after the above dialog closed.
Once you have enabled the Login Approvals feature for your facebook account, you are gonna need to enter security code(sent to the number you’ve just set up) every time you try to login from an unrecognized computer or mobile device.
To Turn it off
You can just uncheck the “Login approvals” option in your “Account Settings” > “Account Security”
