Symbian Anna’s more love for Nokia N8

Symbian^3 devices recently started receiving the latest firmware upgrade of Symbian Anna. Before the official announcement from Nokia, Navifirm has already started showing the Symbian Anna making existence on Nokia’s firmware repository. Symbian Anna does have a few visual and performance upgrades. User Interface of Camera app has got a little change but it’s still lacking the continuous focus in video recording on Nokia N8.

“Symbian Anna’s more love for N8” was titled to this post after an alert made by Damian Dinning (The Imaging Expert at Nokia) on twitter. He tweeted, there is more love for Nokia N8 after having Symbian Anna on it. He alerted to keep an eye on Nokia Conversations on Monday.

In an answer to a tweet Damian Dinning mentioned that, being native to Anna code, the new camera features will provide more smoother results than the ones already available via hacks.

Not sure but what’s heading towards Nokia N8 on Monday is some what clarified by another earlier tweet by Damian Dinning that it’s 30fps support in video recording and may be the continuous focus as well. Damian mentioned “30fps will come via a sw update”. Is it the same software update coming on Monday?

Well Monday is the next day. We’ll see.

But I must tell you that both the 30fps and continuous focus with macro recording features have been seen on Symbian Belle.

Earlier than the official release of Symbian Anna, the Symbian Belle has already been leaked and has both the Continuous focus in video recording as well as 30fps. Following are the screen shots taken from the video recorded with native camera app in Symbian Belle on Nokia N8.
