The service which is called Nokia Care Protect is the service which will be purchased additionally to extend the original limited warranty period, from the day when it ends, for more 12 months giving you support for total of 24 months from the day you first bought the phone. AppleCare+ is the service from Apple for iPhone customers which can be referred as similar to the Nokia Care Protect.
Nokia Care Protect extends the original Manufacturers Limited Warranty on your mobile device by offering repair and support for an additional 12 months.
Nokia Care Protect can be purchased by choosing any of the 3 plan levels below.
- Nokia 1000-2000, C1, C2, X2.
– Cost Rs. 600/– for additional 12 months warranty extension - Nokia 3000-7000, X3, X5, X6, C3, C5, C6, E5.
– Cost Rs. 1550/- for additional 12 months warranty extension - Nokia E-series and N-series.
– Cost Rs. 2800/- for additional 12 months warranty extension
Nokia Care Protect is only valid if the activation occurs within your Original Manufacturers Limited Warranty period for your phone (12 months).General Information about Nokia Care Protect:
- Nokia Care Protect is only valid for warranty repair within the country where the phone was originally sold.
- Nokia Care Protect coverage replicates the repair and support coverage of the original Manufacturers Limited Warranty. (Means everything which is covered by the original limited warranty, is covered with Nokia Care Protect)
- There is no limit to the number of warranty claims that can be made against Nokia Care Protect.
- Once Nokia Care Protect is registered to a phone it cannot be transferred. (Means if used a phone and sell it while the warranty period remains still valid, the extended warranty (like original limited warranty) will go with that phone. You can not transfer the remaining time of extended warranty to another phone. In case if in a warranty claim process you are offered a replacement device by Nokia Care itself due to any reason, the remaining warranty period will be transferred to the replacement phone)
- The battery is not covered by Nokia Care Protect.
- You can purchase Nokia Care Protect at Nokia Care Centres.
We really think it’s a good opportunity for Nokia customers who usually keep their devices more than the 12 months which is the original warranty period that comes with the purchase of any new Nokia handset. If I see myself then I prefer to buy new mobile devices (or anything) and I don’t usually sell them to unknown, rather I keep it home or give to anyone in home or family. Mostly the reason behind keeping the devices and not selling them is that I always like to experiment with my mobiles and gadgets which actually can harm them seriously. So for me, Rs. 2800/- on a bigger device to get the support for additional 12 months worth to spend. 24 months of period for a new phone are normally considered good.
