Skype and Google+ Integration with Windows Phone Tango? Sorry It’s Fake

You must have heard about the recently leaked(claimed to be) screen shot of Windows Phone Tango showing Google+ as well as Skype integrated into the OS. I didn’t put my ears on it that interestingly on first but later when I saw some commenter mentioned about the fake validity of the screen as there were prominent(if look closely) factors in the screenshot to be it false.

If you didn’t hear, PocketPC leaked a screenshot of a pre-beta of Windows Phone Tango build 7.20.1050.5 which will also be the Windows Phone version 7.6 (after 7.5 Mango). The folks at pocketpc impressively added about Google+ integration in addition to the most awaited Skype support with Windows Phone.

I don’t believe that they left most of the parts without carefully making the screenshot. Going straight to the point, two factors in the screenshot were most obvious.

One, the watermark was put down under two self-added services “Google +” and “Skype” with leaving the “available” string badly cropped with black background.

Second, the name “Google +” never officially be used with a space between “Google” and “+” and always be used as one word without space as “Google+” whether it was used in text or in an image or logo.

The Third, and a bit tricky factor of the invalidity of the screenshot is the font spacing. If you look at the following modified image of the leaked screenshot – that is zoomed to 500% to look easy – the spacing between two “OO”s in Facebook and Google are just different. Additionally the Google looks more bolder than the Facebook if you notice.

So that’s it. Including those who already pointed these factors in the screenshot, we also won’t believe this rumour as it could be an attempt to gain more user hits. But I believe most of you will still be waiting for the same in Windows Phone in future, so do I.
