At side Nokia is cutting jobs but on another side Nokia is also planning their new programs. In a press release today Nokia has expressed their aim  to acquire world-class imaging specialists as well as all technologies and intellectual property from a mobile imaging company “Scalado“. If you do not have an idea about this company then that’s the company behind recently previewed mobile app called “Remove” that intends to take out the distractions (unwanted objects) out of the photos.

Jo Harlow – executive vice president, Smart Devices at Nokia – has also mentioned that Nokia has been working with Scalado for more than ten years and they’ve contributed to many of their leading imaging applications.

The financial details have not been disclosed but the primary purpose of the acquisition is to enhance imaging experiences for Nokia Lumia devices.

So the question may be asked by many would be like “What will be the life of the “Remove” app which was announced to be released for Android a few months back?

Well in our humble opinion Nokia wouldn’t abandon the plans completely and would continue with the announcement as Nokia has already supported Android and iOS with their proprietary HTML5 Maps. In fact that was created focusing on other platforms other than Nokia’s own. So There can be a hope that Nokia will not close any earlier plans and progress of the projects of Scalado (at least those which were nearer to finish).  That actually will be a mature decision by Nokia and will be appreciated by many. That’s just my own opinion.
