Nokia’s Imaging Chief “Damian Dinning” – Leaving the firm?

Damian Dinning, the Lead Program Manager for Imaging Experience, at Nokia has decided to leave the company for a reason unknown/undisclosed. If you weren’t familiar with the name before then he was the force behind successful imaging and camera phones from Nokia since a couple of years after when he joined the company.

The most recent imaging smartphone from Nokia is the Windows Phone 8 powered Nokia Lumia 920 which has already been reported with huge volume of pre-orders. Nokia 808 PureView and Nokia N8 were the previous photography centric smartphones from Nokia.

The UK based photography magazine, Amateur Photographer reveals the shocking news about Dinning for quitting his job at Nokia.

In a statement released to AP, Nokia UK said: ‘Following the relocation of key strategic roles to Finland, and with great reluctance, Damian Dinning has made a personal decision to leave the company effective 30 November 2012.’

The Nokia statement adds: ‘During the past nine years, [Damian] has made many innovative and valuable contributions to Nokia, most recently as a lead program manager in our Smart Devices business.

‘We thank him for his service to the company and certainly wish him the best.’
