VLC for iOS returns to App Store – Supporting all video formats it usually does.

One of the best media players, available for almost every platform on desktop computers as well as for Android smratphones, VLC Media Player is now available for iOS devices on iTunes App Store. This is not first time when VLC app reaches iOS. Back in 2011 VLC was pulled out of the App Store by Apple. This time VLC has made return to iOS users.

The app will run all of the supported video formats which are are supported by the classic VLC media player including MKV, AVI, MPG etc. In addition the app integrates with Dropbox to upload media library on the cloud with the option of passcode lock

VLC media player will run on any iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch but requires iOS 5.1 or later installed on the device. VideoLAN has also provided a forum for help using VLC for iOS. VLC supports following features on iOS devices.

  • Play all files, in all formats, including exotic ones, like classic VLC media player.
  • Play MKV, multiple audio tracks (including 5.1), and subtitles tracks (including SSA!).

  • Include video filters, playback speed manipulation, and fine seeking.
