Windows Phone 8 GDR3 and Lumia Bittersweet Shimmer – Screenshots

Microsoft GDR2 has just been a few days old along with Lumia Amber software update for Windows Phone 8, the leaks and rumours have already been up about GDR3 update with even better features to come in later releases for Windows Phone OS. Another thing enters the rumours with more proofs is the Lumia version of the software update with the name “Bittersweet Shimmer”.

Features in GDR3 software update

  • 1080p display resolution support with advance Qualcomm processors
  • Multitasking view provides option to close application running in background via a close button (x) in the corner. Also the name/title of the application is listed under the multitasking app screen.
  • Option to lock/unlock screen orientation. To purposely disable auto rotation of the screen.
  • Custom sounds for text, voice mail, e-mail, and reminders
  • Restore over Wi-Fi when you reset your phone
  • Driving mode, to disable features while driving. Configurable in settings.
  • Bluetooth options with various vehicles and devices
This all information leads from the Nokia Lumia 920 device, gotten from the craigslist which supposedly be a developer device and is being said to have the update installed already on it. We actually never heard such a thing yet so far that if the developers at Nokia or Microsoft have been playing with the in-house software update but this information is being trusted by WPCentral.
