Google Nexus 5X – Official with Android Marshmallow and Nexus Imprint

Google continues partnership with LG by introducing the latest 5.2 inch Nexus 5X as speculations suggested. It will run on latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow.

Packed with high-end hardware the Nexus 5X costs pretty much the mid-range price of $379 for initial variant – that’s not somewhere near the affordable price as Google claimed. Nexus 5X features 64-bit hexa-core processor which is clocked at 1.8GHz on Snapdragon 808.

Weighing 136 grams Nexus 5X is 7.9 mm thick and its 5.2 inch serves with the FHD 1080p resolution – that’s around 423 PPI at pixel density. It will be an LCD display protected by Gorilla Glass 3. The primary camera on the phone features 12.3 MP Sony imaging sensor with 1.55μm pixel size – that’s type 1/2.3 sensor which just as normal size as many other smartphones now a days have. Lens on the camera has the aperture f/2.0. The image sensor indeed supports 4K video recording. While on the front there is a 5 megapixel camera for video calling and selfie shots.

The Nexus 5X comes with 2GB of RAM and 16 GB or 32 GB of Internal Storage. Battery capacity is 2700mAh battery and USB-Type C for connectivity and charging. The phone can be charged up to a level for 3.8 hours of use from 10 of minute charging.

Comparatively to previous Nexus 5, the new Nexus 5X gives some upgrades too which include the fingerprint scanner – called as the Nexus Imprint. Along side the other visual and security features, fingerprint scanner also can be used for Android Pay. For more extent, Nexus Imprint will turn on your screen with one touch, unlock your apps quickly and easily as well as checkout for online payments.

Running on Marshmallow, the Nexus 5X – 16 GB version is priced at $379 (approx. PKR 39,000/- in Pakistan) and 32 GB version is priced at $429 in US (approx. PKR 45,000/- in Pakistan). An extended warranty of 2 years, Nexus Protect is also announced which can be purchased along side the Nexus 5X for additional $69.

The pre-ordes have already been started in US, Canada, UK, Ireland, Japan and Korea.
