Samsung Galaxy J5 & J7 are Quad-core & Octa-core smartphones with 1.5GB RAM, 2600 and 3000mAh battery, 5 MP Front-facing camera with LED flash
Having launched first in Chinese and Indian markets, Samsung has launched its two mid-range devices Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 in Pakistan after a couple of months.
Both the smartphones Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 are Selfie-focused smartphones carrying an LED flash with the front-facing 5 megapixels camera. Samsung has never featured a flash with the front camera before. The main rear camera contains a 13 megapixels sensor with auto focus and a f/1.9 aperture lens.
Galaxy J5 and J7, both run on Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. Both of the devices feature identical 1.5GB of RAM where Galaxy J5 is packed with a Quad-core 1.2GHz processor on Snapdragon 410 SoC and Galaxy J7 is powered by Samsung Exynos 7580 chipset with 1.5 GHz Octa-core processor. Galaxy J5 and J7 come with 8GB and 16GB Internal Storage, respectively. Both the devices support microSD card up to 128GB of memory.
Galaxy J5 features a 5 inch display while the J7 has the bigger 5.5 inch screen. However both of the devices come with the HD resolution (720 x 1280 pixels) serving at the pixel density of ~294 PPI and ~267 PPI respectively. Interestingly, both the devices also feature Super AMOLED displays.
Both of these smartphones support 4G/LTE and 3G networks in Pakistan while also feature connectivity with Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS, Glonass and micro-USB.
A 2600 mAh battery is featured in Galaxy J5 while the other J7 comes with a 3000 mAh battery. These batteries are rated to give a standby time of 342 hours, according to manufacturer.
Samsung Galaxy J5 and J7 are dual-SIM phones and will be available in Black, White and Gold colors. While the smaller Samsung Galaxy J5 will priced at around Rs. 19,000/- is priced at Rs. 23,000/-, its larger sibling, the Galaxy J7, will cost you around Rs. 24,000 Rs. 28,000/- in Pakistan – these prices are estimated after looking at the reduced prices in India, these will be updated once officially confirmed by the company in Pakistan. Also note that the global prices of these two devices are as ~$220 (Rs. ~23,000/-) for J5 and ~$285 (Rs. ~29,000/-) for J7.
