It was revealed earlier by Meizu president himself at MediaTek event that the Meizu Pro 6 is exclusively going to be the first phone to be equipped with MediaTek’s deca-core Helio X25 chipset. A recent update on the unannounced phone brings the benchmark scores of the device from GFXBench.

As appeared in the GFXBench device info, confirming a deca-core CPU with MT6797T chipset (or Helio X25), the Meizu Pro 6 will feature a 4.6-inch screen with FHD resolution of 1080 x 1920. Along side it will use the Mali-T880 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The main/rear camera is 20MP with 4K video recording capability along with a 5MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls.

Considering, MT6797 be the Helio X20, the “T” in MT6797T may be related the improved version Helio X25. With a little higher clock speed of 2.5GHz, the Helio X25 is said to have a little higher performance than the original Helio X20 which is clocked at 2.3GHz on the Cortex-A72. Further, the clock speed on the Mali-T880 MP4 GPU is also increased to 850MHz on the Helio X25 whereas Helio X20 uses the same GPU clocked at 780MHz. On top, the phone will run Android 6.0 Marshmallow

As obvious from the Taiwanese smartphone chip maker, the company is taking very bold steps in introducing more and more cores. MediaTek first introduced the first octa-core processor to run the smartphones. Then companies like Qualcomm also went parallel and adopted the move but later reduced the number of cores back to four in Snapdragon 820 with the home grown Kryo cores. But MediaTek seems to be full confident in their increased processing cores where they have now the 10-core (aka deca-core) chip which we are soon to see in coming months starting. We already know about Vernee Apollo and ZOPO Speed 8 to feature Helio X20 while the phone in subject is going to feature Helio X25. We’ll see how this is going to be.
