Chinese smartphone maker, Meizu is currently being reported to have plans of launching a range of smartphones this year including low-end, mid-range and high-end flagships as appeared in a roadmap with key components of specifications and pricing detail as well.
Total of seven handsets are being listed in a leaked image, two of which can be considered as budget smartphones named M3 and M3 Note. Three seem to be mid-range which are Metal 2, MX6 Mini and MX6 while two flagship devices are Pro 6 Mini and Pro 6.
At an extent, the cheapest Meizu M3 is listed with an unknown chipset/CPU. It will offer a 5″ LCD display with 720p HD resolution and will be backed up by 2800mAh battery. Available in two variants 16GB and 32GB will cost CNY 599 ($92) and CNY 799 ($122) respectively. The other one is Meizu M3 Note, powered by MediaTek’s Helio P10, 5.5″ LCD display with FHD 1080p resolution. It will be packed with 3200mAh battery and will cost CNY 799 ($122) for 16GB version or CNY 999 ($153) for 32GB version.
Mid-range Metal 2 (or M2 Metal) is also featuring a 5.5 inch LCD display with 1080p resolution and 3200mAh battery pack and as well mTouch 3.0 fingerprint scanner. It will have three variants with 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage costing CNY 999 ($153), CNY 1199 ($184), and CNY 1499 ($230) respectively. This phone will be packed with the most powered Helio X20 chipset.
Meizu MX6 Mini with 4.7 inch Super AMOLED display will also have 1080p resolution, will have 2800mAh battery and mTouch 3.0 fingerprint scanner. Also featuring NFC3.0, the 16GB model will cost CNY 1499 ($230) while 32GB or 64GB models are priced at CNY 1699 ($261) or CNY 1999 ($307) respectively. The bigger version Meizu MX6 will have 5.5 inch display and 3300mAh battery with everything intact as Mini. Prices of Meizu MX6 adds CNY 200 ($30) to Mini model. Both the Meizu MX6 Mini and MX6 will also feature the powerful Helio X20 chipset.
What remains is one already in news, the Meizu Pro 6. With this leaked roadmap, what comes along is the Mini version of the phone Meizu Pro 6 Mini. Previously we knew that Pro 6 will be running on MediaTek’s Helio X25, the recent leaked image suggests that it’s Pro 6 Mini which will feature the deca-core Helio X25. The upper model Meizu Pro 6 will instead be powered by Samsung’s Exynos 8890. Both the phones will have Super AMOLED displays, however Pro 6 Mini will have 4.7″ screen with 1080p resolution and the Pro 6 will offer 5.7″ screen with Quad HD 1440p resolution. Both will feature mTouch 3.1 fingerprint scanner. The former will have 2800mAh battery while the latter packs with 3500mAh battery. Both the phones will have 32GB, 64GB and 128GB models. Respective prices of Meizu Pro 6 Mini are as CNY 2299 ($353), CNY 2599 ($399), CNY 2999 ($460) while Pro 6 will cost CNY 2799 ($430), CNY 3099 ($476) and CNY 3499 ($537).
While this leak doesn’t reveal about the RAM in any of the devices, another report suggests that the Pro 6 may feature 6GB of RAM. Lastly, the pattern of the roadmap seems good to be believed but we suggest to take it just as another rumor.
