NetSol invests $3.9M in eeGeo, An Interactive 3D Mapping Company

In a recent announcement, NetSol Technologies, a global business services and enterprise application solutions provider, stated that they have signed an agreement to provide technology services to eeGeo which is an interactive 3D mapping start-up company based in the United Kingdom.

Under the agreement, NetSol will provide services to eeGeo of approximately $2.8 million. Additionally, NetSol will invest $556,000, with an additional $556,000 in August 2016. Making it a total of $3.912 million investment NetSol will own 15% of eeGeo’s stakes.

Including the NetSol’s investment, the company has raised $5 million from a range of other investors to grow and globally spread its 3D mapping platform.

If you are not familiar, eeGeo is a software company founded in 2010 and based in the UK that delivers a 3D representation of the world in which information, content, services and data visualisation can be presented in a visually attractive way that encourages discovery, interaction and provably aids user engagement. The company has its own cloud based, SaaS platform has its origins in the gaming industry. The company create geo-spatially accurate renditions of cities, countries and continents to create an interactive 3D map that includes enough detail to the level of buildings indoors as well as interior.

It’s worth mentioning that eeGeo has already worked with a number of mega clients including Cisco and Samsung.

The eeGeo platform, which has already been experienced by millions of end-users around the world, enables businesses to easily visualize complex data sets and location-based services in a 3D mobile experience. The platform is used by companies, including Cisco and NTT DoCoMo, to deliver engaging, compelling and differentiated 3D map experiences for both interior and exterior locations.

To an extent, eeGeo created a mobile app for Cisco that helps visitors through its Customer Experience Centers using indoor maps which also include interior rendering. The app enables the visitors see their location in the building, elevation and position, while helping them to reach their destination point within the building. On the other hand the company built an app for Samsung that provided 3D city guide during 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.

In total, eeGeo has also mapped a bundle big cities around the world including the U.S., Britain, Canada and Japan.
