Uber launches in Pakistan – Starts Taxi Service in Lahore

Having confirmed back in October 2015, the globally acclaimed taxi dispatch service Uber has finally launched in Pakistan starting its services from Lahore first.

Giving an idea how the people of Lahore are going to be facilitated with the recently launched taxi service, the officials believe the travelers are only few taps away from getting to their destination with Uber smartphone app.

All you need to do is download the Uber app, choose to pay with cash or your credit/debit card, pinpoint your location and a driver will be ready to pick you up within minutes. You can track the exact location of the driver and even share details about your trip with anyone on the social media right from the Uber app.

The first person to try uberGO in Lahore was actress and international model Mehreen Syed. Legendary cricketer Shoaib Akhtar also took a test ride around the city.

Calling it a Zero-Ride, the first ride was taken by a Pakistani Supermodel, Entrepreneur and Humanitarian Mehreen Syed. The fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar also made took a test trip with Uber.

Free Rides Weekend

With the launch, Uber is providing a Free Rides Weekend. Starting at 12 PM PKT this Thursday, you can take up to 5 free rides anywhere in Lahore.

  • Minimum Fare: Rs. 150/- (Fixed)
  • Fare/KM: Rs. 13.7
  • Fare/Minute: 3.7 PKR
