MediaTek’s Pump Express 3.0 Charges a Smartphone from 0 to 70% in 20 minutes

MediaTek is completely on its job to upgrade their technologies and introduce further into growing smartphone industry. Where the smartphones are getting packed with larger battery capacities, they sure need a partner to get them charged as quickly as in minutes. MediaTek is not staying calm at this side of the picture in the industry.

Today MediaTek, the Taiwanese system-on-chip maker, has introduced the upgraded version of its Pump Express to get the smartphone charged even faster. As claimed, the MediaTek processors equipped with Pump Express 3.0 will allow users to charge the phone as quickly as from 0 to 70% in 20 minutes.

Pump Express 3.0 technology will be available in MediaTek’s Helio series P20 with devices expected to hit markets later this year. The chip maker claims that their solution is the first of the world that could bypass the circuitry of the phone and directly charge the battery through USB Type-C interface that actually prevents the phone from overheating.

We have already seen solutions from Qualcomm and OPPO recently as according to their claims, QuickCharge 3.0 from the former charges 80% in 35 minutes while the latter’s super fast charging claims to have the phone fully charged in just 15 minutes.
