Samsung Galaxy Note 7 edge reported to have dual-camera and IRIS scanner

Samsung Galaxy Note 6 Note 7 Dual Camera

After LG G5 and Huawei P9, where we have a lot of clues about Apple’s iPhone 7 to feature dual-camera, the reports have started dropping in that Samsung is also preparing its upcoming Galaxy Note 7 edge with a dual-camera setup. Yes, you heard it right, the number 6 in this year’s Note 6 is being skipped by the Korean smartphone maker as reports ETNews.

Following a rumor originated from China’s ZOL, Samsung could be the fourth smartphone maker sporting an interesting feature in Galaxy Note 6/7, most famous these days – the “Dual-Camera”. It is reportedly being developed by SEMCO (Samsung’s Electro-Mechanics) as they appear to be working on dual-lens configuration for smartphones.

If there’s a truth in that, the dual-camera setup will make a debut on the Note 6/7 edge and we believe it may also feature Samsung’s own 12MP camera sensors inside but there is no more detail about that. Neither we know how the configuration will work on the said device.

Other features in the upcoming Note 6/7 will reportedly include 5.8″ Super AMOLED display with QHD 2560×1440 or 2K resolution. System-on-chip could be a Snapdragon 823 or in-house Exynos or both in different variants. The 6GB LPDDR4 RAM has also been rumored previously while the indigestible 256GB of internal storage is being reported to show up next Galaxy Note along with a 4000mAh battery. An IRIS scanner is also being rumored to make an appearance in the upcoming Galaxy phablet this year. Let alone the features we have already seen in the Galaxy S7 such as water resistance and fingerprint scanner which may also come along in the larger device by Samsung.

LG launched G5 earlier this year with the dual-camera setup. Later Huawei brought the P9 with Leica lenses on its dual-camera. iPhone 7 has long been in rumors to sport dual-camera as well. So Samsung’s version of dual-camera won’t be a surprise any more unless the Koran giant has something different in functioning of the configuration.

According to reports, Samsung may unveil the Galaxy Note 7 (or Note 6 sequentially) in August at their Unpacked event.
