Infinix Note 3 – 1080p FHD, Fingerprint Scanner and Liquid Cooling

Infinix Mobility has launched another smartphone in their phablet lineup with 6 inch display, Infinix Note 3. Mainly it’s an improved version of Infinix Note 2 rather than a successor.

Infinix Note 3 is an aluminum built design with fixed top and bottom on the back and only a middle back cover is removable with 4500mAh battery inside. It’s got an improved 1080p resolution on its IPS display but comes with a feature increasingly getting popular in a smartphone, the fingerprint scanner. What’s left is the aerospace grade cooling system as claimed by the Chinese phone maker.

Fingerprint scanners are actually getting famous day by day and we have seen them in tens of devices, even in the mid-range ones. But what’s important is to see their efficiency in performance which we can’t evaluate unless we try ourselves. There have been reports about many mid-range devices having a non-worthy fingerprint scanners but we can’t tell before trying ourselves.

Next thing is the liquid cooling, which Infinix calls it as aerospace cooling system “originally developed for cooling satellites with the inclusion of copper pipes built into the Note 3 that carry fluid through the device as a method of preventing overheating.” The fluid evaporates and the extra heat is circulated as water vapor in case when overheating occurs. Note 3 uses this system to provide both faster and more efficient charging as well.

Another thing to note is that unlike previous model, Note 3 only has 3G connectivity at maximum with only 2GB of RAM has 3G and 4G models with 2GB and 3GB RAM respectively and the similar MediaTek chipset MT6753 with the same Mali T720 GPU as in Note 2. Internal storage is also limited to 16GB with option to expand via microSD card up to 128GB.

While the back cover is removable, the Note 3 offers a SIM slot that doesn’t need the back cover to be opened before. SIM eject tool is provided and both the SIMs will be inserted into the same slot like many other smartphones have to offer. However, the Note 3 has separate slot for microSD card that makes it possible to have all three things in action at once – two SIM cards and one microSD card.
