Telenor officially launches 4G services in Pakistan with 4G handsets and devices

Telenor Pakistan has officially launched its 4G services along with new range of Telenor-branded 4G smartphones and 4G mobile broadband devices today at a dynamic launch event. Telenor Pakistan won the technology-neutral 850 MHz spectrum license earlier this year and announced the launch of best-in-class 4G services in August 2016.

Initially Telenor started 4G services in 6 cities for free, later expanding the services to more regions across country while transitioning of SIM replacements in the areas where the services were provided. Today the telco has launched the services officially in an announcement during an event held in the capital city.

If you are wondering, Telenor now is the 3rd carrier in Pakistan which is providing services after Zong and Warid.

Telenor Pakistan has also announced a range of new 4G handsets and internet devices. The new range of handsets include “Infinity a”, “Infinity e” and “Infinity i”. All of these are 4G capable, running Android Marshmallow 6.0 OS, with IPS display, and undisclosed quad core processor.

No information was disclosed about memory, cameras, and battery capacities. The handsets will cost you PKR 13,000, 9,500 and 7,500 respectively, and come with three months of free voice and data bundles along with 12 months warranty for all Telenor customers.

On the other hand 4G mobile broadband devices include 4G Hotspot Wingle and 4G Hotspot Mobile Wi-Fi. Both devices feature fast 4G connectivity with 3G and 2G fall back options. The 4G Hotspot Wingle can connect up to 10 devices, while 4G Hotspot Mobile Wi-Fi can connect up to 16 devices respectively including smartphones, tablets, laptops, smart watches, LEDs etc. The cost is PKR 2,000 for 4G Hotspot Wingle and 3,000 for 4G Hotspot Mobile Wi-Fi.
