Samsung Galaxy S8 emerges with more features, No Home Button, No Edge Variant

Galaxy S8 might come with a “Plus” variant instead of “Edge” sibling

With all stuff about Samsung Galaxy S8 in its rumors and speculations, new details reveal about the two variant names and the key features which they will have or they will not.

A latest report comes right from the home country of the manufacturer that claims as the specifications of the Galaxy S8 have been finalized and it will not feature a home button which had been present since the original Galaxy S smartphone and later hosted the fingerprint scanner in it. This element has been rumored previously too as the Galaxy S8 will be the first Galaxy S device from Samsung will not feature the home button.

Samsung Galaxy S8 will reportedly feature 5.7 inch display but will not have dual-camera setup to keep the cost lower. The display of the phone is just according to what we have heard before as Samsung might enlarge the standard Galaxy S8 featuring Note 7 elements with it.

The smartphone will indeed be available in two variants but no “edge” model will be introduced. Instead a “Plus” variant will be debuted. The Galaxy S8 Plus will have even large 6.2 inch display that might feature dual-camera as well.

I still don’t believe this strategy of the Korean smartphone maker to skip the 5.1 inch and 5.5 inch displays as these are currently the more common sizes for now-standard size of smartphone. If Samsung had to use remaining Note 7’s raw stock, it would be better to use them with the Plus variant replacing instead of going any further but keeping the standard Galaxy S8 size within its range of 5.1 to 5.5.

Well the report also suggests that the prototype of Galaxy S8 has already been sent to CEO and Vice Chairman of the company.

Set for official announcement around MWC 2017, Samsung Galaxy S8 rumors and speculations can be read over here.
