Apple topped, Samsung second, Huawei takes 3rd Spot in smartphone market – Gartner Q4 2016

According to recent report published by Gartner, worldwide smartphone sales grew by seven percent in fourth quarter of the past year.

Gartner released its figures recorded for Q4 2016 revealing Apple’s top position in smartphone sales with 17.9% market share – slightly up from 17.7% in fourth quarter of 2015.

Samsung dropped to number two with 17.8% share but that’s not a slight drop. The Korean giant was on top with 20.7% market share a year before. Probably the ill-fated Note 7 affected the results so hard pushing the smartphone maker back.

Chinese phone makers Huawei and OPPO followed taking the third and fourth place with 9.5% and 6.2% markets share.
