Xiaomi Mi Max 2 – Announced with 6.44″ display and 5300mAh battery, Price and Availability

After around a year of the launch of original Mi Max that carried out a large display and a massive battery at that time, Xiaomi has unveiled the Mi Max 2 with the same display size but with an extended 5300mAh battery capacity.

Xiaomi has officially announced the successor Mi Max 2 – the successor to Mi Max. The new smartphone borrows some features from the predecessor like the 6.44″ display with full HD resolution of 1920×1080. However the phone got upgrade at some components.

Xiaomi Mi Max 2 Features

The new Mi Max 2 is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 mobile platform with an octa-core processor with 4GB of RAM. The phone comes in two storage variants – 64GB or 128GB as well as a microSD card slot is also present for storage expansion.

The phone features a 12 megapixels camera on the back with Sony’s IMX386 sensor. On the front there’s a 5 megapixels selfie camera.

The marketing point of the new Mi Max 2 is the massive 5300mAh battery pack which is supported by Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0. Other features of the phone include a fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C port and an IR blaster.

Price and Availability

  • Mi Max 2 – 64GB: RMB 1699 – Chinese Yuan (~$247 USD or Rs. ~26,000/- PKR)
  • Mi Max 2 – 128GB: RMB 1999 – Chinese Yuan (about $291 USD or Rs. ~30,500/- PKR)

The Mi Max 2 will start shipping in China from June 1st, 2017. Other prices are only for reference and may vary on regional launch. As well there’s no word when the Mi Max will hit other markets including Pakistan.
