Nokia 2 – another ultra low-end Nokia Android to launch next month

Nokia 2 Render

HMD Global launched three Nokia Android smartphones earlier this year and we keep hearing about an upcoming flagship Nokia 8. But now expect another ultra low-end Nokia 2 that appeared on Geekbench earlier this week.

Considering the specs of a lower-end smartphone and current design language of Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6, CAD renders of Nokia 2 have started appearing.

After Nokia 3, 4 and 6 are ready to hit more countries after China, including Pakistan. Well, Nokia 3 and Nokia 5 are already available in Pakistan. Speculations suggest that HMD could further launch Nokia 8, Nokia 7 and Nokia 2. The company has set to hold an event on August 16 where Nokia 8 is expected to launch. With no confirmation yet, Nokia 2 is now also being suggested to go parallel with the flagship phone on the event.

Look at the Geekbench listing of an Unknown Heart, supposedly Nokia 2.

Nokia 2 Geekbench Listing

The Nokia 2 is reported to have a 4.5” HD display. Of course there will not be any thing like fingerprint scanner. The renders go with on-screen navigation icons, instead of all capacitive keys on Nokia 3 or a physical home button unlike Nokia 5 or Nokia 6.

Overall design looks more like following the design language of Nokia 3, Nokia 5 and Nokia 6. Reading Geekbench listing, we can tell that it’s Snapdragon 212 chip and 1GB RAM with quad-core CPU and Android 7.1.1 Nougat. It’s believed that Nokia 2 will have an 8-megapixel camera on the back and 5-megapixel on the front.

Update: a live picture of the alleged Nokia 2 has now appeared. The illustration suggests that the phone may have a 720p HD display on a screen size from 4.7″ to 5″. This photo also crosses the Snapdragon processor.
