Nokia launches the Lumia 520 – The most inexpensive Windows Phone 8 from Nokia

Nokia, at Mobile World Congress 2013, has announced the most affordable Windows Phone 8 powered Lumia 520 with 4-inch WVGA IPS LCD display featuring the same Super Sensitive touch technology as came with high-end Lumia 820 and Lumia 920. Well it definitely is inexpensive while it brings a lot from high-end siblings.

Nokia Lumia 520, being a big screen contender, is also packed with 1 GHz Dual-Core Snapdragon S4 processor and 512 MB of RAM. Mass memory has 8 GB for internal user storage and an option to extend memory via MicroSD card of up to 64GB. Additional 7GB of free cloud storage on SkyDrive will be added to your Windows Live account. Battery capacity is 1430 mAh. The smartphone does bring a 5 Megapixel primary camera for regular photography and video recording but no secondary camera is available, hence no front facing video chat on Skype. Nokia’s traditional dedicated camera shutter key is present.

With support of 3G HSPA, WLAN, Bluetooth 3.0, A-GPS, Micro SIM, 3.5mm Audio Connector, USB 2.0 the Lumia 520 lacks the NFC connectivity and Wireless charging features.

Nokia Shell will be available as an add-on accessory for Nokia Lumia 520 which currently include red, white and yellow.

Nokia Lumia 520 will be available in 5 colors, yellow, cyan, magenta, white and black. Excluding taxes and/or subsidies the device will cost EUR 139/- The official global release is set to start in Q2 2013 after the release in Hong Kong and Veitnam in running Q1. The Nokia Lumia 520 is also planned to roll out in the United States with T-Mobile. China Mobile would bring Nokia Lumia 520 (along with Lumia 720) to China.
