Today, Google has added Pakistan as a supported country from where developers can register a merchant account. Until now Android developers from Pakistan were able to register as developer only and could publish free apps to Google Play Store. Now with merchant accounts, developers from Pakistan can now publish paid Android apps to the Play Store and earn money.

However currently the bigger ratio of internet usage is from the PC users but while the days pass, Pakistani internet users are gaining momentum in using their smartphones for the purpose. Desktop is dominant with 91 percent owning a PC at home, 45 percent also own a smartphone or tablet. 18 percent cite the latter as their primary device. Mobile devices are gaining momentum: 86 percent use PCs to access the Internet daily, 77 percent use smartphones, 73 percent use feature phones and 59 percent use tablets daily.
