Nokia has selected Pakistan to held first-ever Nokia App Summit 2012. That’s a good go for Pakistani mobile app developers. In collaboration with with P@SHA, djuice, CIO Pakistan, The Express Tribune, Apna Karachi FM-107 and Brandsynario.com, the event will be held on July 16th and 17th, 2012 at Karachi Marriott Hotel.
Nokia Pakistan has started a simple competition for participants to win a Nokia 808 PureView. The entry to the competition is simple by submitting a picture you have taken recently or whenever in old days. A picture gaining the most of the votes will be a winner.
UNESCO Pakistan and Nokia have just launched a basic literacy application “eTaleem” for mobile phones. eTaleem will run on Nokia’s most affordable S40 series phones and will allow people to easily access lessons for Urdu reading, phonetics, word synthesis, sentence making, and basic math.
Nokia is going to organise an event for launching upcoming Nokia devices in Pakistan on May 15th. This will be the first launch event of Nokia devices ever held in Pakistan for global markets.
Nokia Pakistan has finally launched their facebook fan page with an exclamatory remarks “From time to time, we do something first, before anybody else. Today, Nokia Pakistan has entered Facebook and together we will do a lot for the first time :)”
Nokia Pakistan and Djuice (A Subsidiary of Telenor) have collaborated to start a chain of developer workshops to train software developers . Focusing on the development for Nokia’s S40 devices, the aim of these workshops is to cater to the lower-end of the market. The first workshop in this chain was held at Telenor regional office where Tony Torp (an external trainer from Nokia) shared the details of development tools available to develop mobile apps for S40 devices while hands-on training session was also delivered to the participants.
While Nokia N9 has been very much welcomed globally (where launched), The official launch of Nokia N9 in Pakistan has been held in Karachi. You can see a few of the pictures inside from the live event sent from the attendees.
Ufone is going to promote the beautiful Nokia N9 in Pakistan. However Nokia N9 has already been available in markets officially. I am not sure what purpose Ufone will serve for Nokia N9 now. Probably a lower price tag and a few promotional gifts?
With the newest Symbian OS, Nokia X7 is the first in Nokia’s X series mobile phones line-up that’s powered by Symbian Anna (core Symbian^3). Stainless steel is an impressive addition to Nokia X7 as it’s finished with the making. It made Nokia X7 an attractive device with the AMOLED display under 4 inch capacitive touchscreen on front. And on-top, there’s the Gorilla glass. In respect to favour photography to make it up-to the date device, Nokia X7 comes with 8 mega pixel camera with dual-led flash.
