QuickOffice not upgraded with PR1.1 Nokia N8?

It’s not common to all users of Nokia N8. But I was the one of them who could not have seen the new QuickOffice 6.4 after upgrading Nokia N8 to firmware release PR1.1. It was shipped free of cost according to Nokia Conversations.

It was not that hard for me to discover the reason why I didn’t get the new update after updating the software.

The reason was the already purchased QuickOffice Pro 6 installed in my Nokia N8. So it’s most possible that if any one of you guys has purchased the full QuickOffice Pro 6 and has installed in your Nokia N8, then you will not see the new QuickOffice 6.4 after updating the firmware.

Note that I said “you can’t see“. Means the new QuickOffice has come into your Nokia N8 but it’s just been covered with the QuickOffice Pro 6. You just need to uninstall the QuickOffice pro from Applications Manager and restart the device. You will get the QuickOffice 6.4 bundled with PR1.1 back on your device.

It’s just like wasting money for QuickOffice Pro 6 now when Nokia has given it free of cost in fact with more features like pinch to zoom in documents in addition to editing.

Any ways I just had paid around 300/- PKR for QuickOffice Pro. and have to forget that now.
