I saw this update, last night (late night – 31st August, 2011), on the Nokia N8’s in-device Software Updater when wondered to check if there is some update or not. And there was this big update as 024.001.
following screens showing a software update notification (left) when on earlier version of Symbian Anna 22.14 (middle) and then after updating to Symbian Anna 24.1 (on right)
The update is big as around 266 MB, so you will not be offered to update over the air. You need to connect to PC via Nokia Software Updater or Nokia Ovi Suite.
After hunting around and talking to twitter friends I got that this update is not available globally.
So checking with Navifirm, the production external repository of Nokia shows only a limited list of variants for this update (024.001). The variants include Middle East product codes, a few for Netherlands and Thailand.
After knowing the fact, I guess this update is only available for above listed regions. So is available for Pakistan as the units sold in Pakistan are the Middle East
The same limit of availability might be on other devices as well as on Nokia N8

YES BUT THE COLORS OF THE NEW FEATURES AND LOG IS AWFULL!!! IT WAS MUCH GREATER IN THE LAST VERSION ANYONE CAN HELP ME TELLING HOW TO GET ACK TO THE OLDER VERSION ..THANX
i just installed version 024.001 on my C7 and it has much better audio
output both in the loudspeaker and headphones than before (022.014)…
