Install incompatible/unavailable Apps or Games directly from Nokia Store and Nokia Drop

It’s most often when you see some application or a game on Nokia Store which is not compatible or which is not available specifically for your device but it is available for some other device which is just like your device with respect to the OS or Software. For example Nokia N8 and Nokia C7 both does have the same OS Symbian^3 or even Nokia X7 is also based on Symbian^3 from core. So most of the apps and games should work on all of these devices if it works for one. – however some of the apps won’t work as well.

But when you are sure that a specific app or game can work on your device and it is not available in the Nokia Store for you to download onto your device. Or in fact if you are not sure about that but just want to see if it works on your device or not. Then here is the way you can easily perform the job without any interruption.

There are other ways as well to download the app manually. Then move it to the device and install manually. Like.

But I recently found that Nokia Drop’s integration with Nokia Store lets you do that directly. You need to have Nokia Drop installed on your device.

Here is the demo of installing “Nokia Trailers” on Nokia X7 even if the Store doesn’t give you a link to send or download to X7.

Change the device selection from top left corner of the store page. You can select Nokia N8 or Nokia E7, Nokia Trailers application is available for these two.

Now the sending option will be available. Make sure that Nokia Drop is running in your target device (Nokia X7 in this demo.)

Click “Send to mobile”

When following popup will open then click “Download on mobile”

The process will be handed over to Nokia Drop and the installer will be downloaded directly in your device which then automatically start installing.

This procedure will work only for free apps and games. Paid apps will be only downloadable from within Nokia Store on your device after paying hence will fail when trying to pass through the Nokia Store because app will be not listed for your device.
