Nokia Kinetic: Do with it what you never did before. It’s flexible. It’s bendable

Nokia Kinetic, a bendable phone: It’s one of the innovations Nokia has shown at recently held Nokia World 2011. The very first thing to tell about it is that it’s not touch device and you are not supposed to use this device you ever did till now by touching the screens or by pressing the buttons. What you will do to operate it is to bend it.

As the title says “Do with it what you never did before” means you can squeeze it, twist it, flex it. Nokia Kinetic is purely built with a bendable display with no worries if you could break it while bending it. And if you are thinking that if that was possible in real world what you normally watch in Hollywood flicks, then watch a demo of the Nokia Kinetic shown never before but at Nokia World 2011.

Do you believe in such innovations to be successful? I already heard and read a lot on this new thing that it’s-of-no-use-in-real-world like comments. If you have the same thought about it, I’ll want to ask you a question that are you a believer of a fact when the things actually appear with that form of concept what you had been listening for a long time? means that if you won’t believe the things can work that way until they really start doing. So did you ever believe the touch screen displays and the phones that could ever be operated by only with your finger tips before they actually came in your life? Now is the era of those touch screen smartphones, laptops etc that you really like to use more than any thing. I guess we can appreciate technology even in the form of concept because that appreciation helps innovators to move on with that concept and bring to you the whole new world.

Well I’ll appreciate people behind this project that they did come with a less prototype but almost fully working device rather than only bringing an idea with a mock-up device. I’ll appreciate people welcoming this technology

Some words from Nokia Conversations

“We can even build in security functions so that the phone will only work when it recognizes your grip,” says  Tapani Jokinen, Head of Design, Technology Insights.

This prototype shows how intuitive and natural interaction can be. It gives you ultimate control, when you are browsing.

It’s like in your car, when you turn the steering wheel a lot, the car will move faster. This is the same.

By bending, twisting and touching the screen. You can perform one, two, three, possibly four actions simultaneously.

The applications for this type of gadget are limitless. It will be very easy to fit these evices into the curve of a car dashboard, for example. And the total lack of buttons will make it simple to waterproof these devices

Do tell us what do you think about this new type of display. Could you use your phone in that way?
