eBuddy XMS beta for Windows Phone and MeeGo Updated

We’ve received emails from eBuddy beta team informing us about the updates which are now available for Windows Phone users and MeeGo users. If you haven’t subscribed with eBuddy beta community, you will want to follow the instructions below to know how you can download and install eBuddy XMS beta update on your MeeGo device.

We are really sorry that we can’t help you providing Windows Phone update due to restrictions at Marketplace. But if you are Windows Phone user then follow the instructions below to get facilitated with future updates.

Bugs and Missing features in eBuddy XMS beta for Windows Phone:

Incoming smillies appear as squares (□)
Not all translations are implemented yet
Live tile not yet implemented
Picture, video sending and group messaging is not available.

Instructions for Windows Phone:

Marketplace handles app distribution as specifically as Windows Live IDs, so your Windows Live ID is required to be shared with eBuddy XMS beta team so that they could send you app updates for your Windows Phone. You can join eBuddy beta community at their facebook fan page.

To Download xBuddy XMS beta for Windows Phone, you have to subscribe at eBuddy beta community for later updates. Because the beta invitation are sent to subscribed users via email and for now the invitations have been sent out to the current subscribed users. If you join now, you will get future updates.

Instructions for MeeGo:

Follow the instructions if you have previous eBuddy XMS beta installed on your phone. The installation settings have been changed, so now the beta will be installed in a new folder.

Option 1- To save all your previous settings and messages, do the following:

Close your old application
Go to folder /home/user/.local/share/data/eBuddy
Rename “Xms” folder to “xms-qt”
Install new beta by following this link http://beta.ebuddy.com/nokia/xms-qt.deb and run it

Option 2- You can also completely uninstall old beta application and then install a new one:

Uninstall application from application list or application manager
Go to File manager and fine the folder /home/user/.local/share/data/eBuddy
Delete application folder
Install new beta by following this link http://beta.ebuddy.com/nokia/xms-qt.deb and run it
