Google’s first branded Android Tablet: The Nexus 7 [Tech Specs and An Overview]

Google’s first Nexus Tablet
The Nexus 7 gets launched

Google’s first Android tablet named “Nexus 7″, which had reportedly been in rumors and leaks for a few days, now has been officially announced by Google. Company’s first tablet visually has some great pin points with regards to the build size, weight, resolution, processor and some extra add-ons in hardware e.g. NFC if compared to league of its size from earlier days. But while manufacturers have already been going ahead with added inches into the size of the displays, Google started it again from 7”. So this should be alone in its category with new tablets as mostly other tablets are now bigger in sizes. Nexus 7’s manufacturing partner is ASUS who has already built a range of Android tablets/slates e.g. Eee Pad and Transformer range.

This is right a few days after when the Microsoft Surface tablet was announced. But to us this didn’t make any surprise as the Microsoft Surface did with its features and design. You must need to check the specifications of Google Nexus 7 tablet below. But have in mind that the points regarding prices of the tablets, Nexus 7 will be the cheapest one among good tablets. Nexus 7 8GB is for $199 and the 16GB version will cost you $249 and that’s it. Both versions of Nexus 7 have not any other difference than the storage. Kindle Fire really has got a tough competition as Nexus 7 will not be limited in exploring the content as Kindle Fire is. Pre-orders are being taken by Google now which is available only for a select countries excluding Pakistan as well.

Naming it as “Nexus 7” after the display size of the tablet, does this make sense if Google would also be preparing for Nexus 10 with 10 inch display size sooner or later sometime?
