Nokia has launched a new range of Asha devices, the first time ever Full Touch “Series 40” phones running an operating system namely “S40Asha”. Nokia has already launched a range of Asha handsets from which we have had our hands on Nokia Asha 303. This new full-touch based Asha devices will be available initially for select regions –listed after the break– and there is no clue when these will hit other markets.
Nokia Conversations: “The devices will run on Asha Touch, which is a new, fun and playful touch screen interface that builds on Nokia’s swipe heritage.”
Nokia Asha 305 and Nokia Asha 306 share most of the things as follows
Additionally Nokia Asha 305 features Dual-SIM which is Nokia’s Easy Swap (aka Hot Swap) to make it quick changeable without opening anything or turning off the phone. On the other hand to make Nokia Asha 306 a bit distinct Wi-Fi support has been added to it making this the most affordable Wi-Fi capable handset from Nokia.
Pricing almost 25% above, Nokia Asha 311 supports rather more features than the above two with 1GHz processor and capacitive touch screen.
The estimated retail price for Nokia Asha 305 is EUR 63 and it’s expected to start shipping in the second quarter of 2012. The estimated retail price for Nokia Asha 306 is EUR 68. The Nokia Asha 311 has an estimated retail price of EUR 92. Both devices are expected to start shipping in the third quarter of 2012. Above mentioned prices exclude taxes and subsidies.
