Nik Software, the developer company of the “Best Mobile Photo App 2012” winner Snapseed for iOS, has been the successful maker of photography editing tools and plugins for desktop software e.g Adobe Photoshop®, Lightroom®, or Aperture® before Google acquired the company with its products back in September 2012. Later the Snapseed was released for Android devices in December.
As of now, Google has offered the Nik Collection for $149 containing each of the desktop plugin HDR Efex Pro 2, Silver Efex Pro 2, Sharpener Pro 3, Color Efex Pro 4, Viveza 2, and Dfine 2 while the ability to buy separate single plugin has been closed. Previously the separate plugin was available to buy for $100 each while the bundle of all the plugins was priced at $499.
According to dpreview connect, the change in the latest release of Nik Collection is not more than the Google branding and the all-in-one installer. The price drop is an obvious. Also Google is offering to give away the full collection free-of-cost to the customers who bought any individual plugin within the last five years. If you have have spent more than $149 on plugins since February 22nd, 2013 you will be refunded the difference.
If you are an interested photographer and/or belongs to graphic creativity, you can get the bundle from Nik Software. The trial option is also available which gives you the 15 days to try the software.
