Nokia has officially announced another Asha family member the Asha 501 by calling it the “Next Generation” – of Asha Series 40 perhaps. Targeting the low budget customers while giving them the full opportunity of being social and getting use to play with smartphone capabilities, Nokia has presented the new Asha 501 with the revamped operating system and user interface of the series 40 platform. As per the claim of the Finnish firm, it presents a responsive touchscreen while giving access to the social networks e.g. facebook, the ability of content sharing and connectivity being deeply integrated into the system.
Out of the box, Nokia Asha 501 will have Facebook, Twitter, instant messaging and Weather Channel apps installed. Also the games from Gameloft, e.g. Big Little City and Real Football 2013 will be included. There is also an offer of 40 Free EA Games for you to download and keep forever from the Nokia Store.
Nokia Asha 501 will be available in both the single SIM variant and Dual-SIM variant. And it will use the micro-SIM.
When available, you can get Nokia Asha 501 in six bright colors, red, green, cyan, yellow, white and black. That will cost you $99 (US dollars) without the taxes and subsidies, Hence the price may be a little around Rs. 11000 (Pakistani Rupees) after the taxes and duties being included in Pakistan.
The little Asha will be available from Q2, in more than 90 countries worldwide.
