WhatsApp for iOS is now free but starts annual subscriptions

WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging app available on almost every platform free of cost, had left the iOS version alone costing $0.99 for download and install up until now. As per the talks of WhatsApp CEO a few months ago, the app has now been made free of cost for iOS just like the versions on other platforms Android, BlackBerry, Windows Phone and Nokia.

That is, you can now download WhatsApp for free on your iPhone but need to purchase an annual subscription of $0.99 per year after one year from the date of first use. WhatsApp gives first year for free to use before ending your free subscription and asking you for $0.99 to renew the subscription for another year.

Download WhatsApp now from iTunes App Store.
