Now when Android has reached the letter “K” recently with the name “KitKat” borrowed from wafer bars wrapped with the chocolate. Recent rumours about the upcoming Windows Phone 8 software update reveals (if they are true to come) that Nokia has chosen the same naming convention to name its Lumia software updates. “Amber” was the first major software update from Nokia for Lumia devices (checkout the review) and now there is the second alphabet “B” for “Bittersweet Shimmer” in rumours to hit Lumia devices in November (according to rumours).
The difference is, with Lumia they are colours. Amber is a yellowish-orange where the Bittersweet Shimmer is metallic-pink-shade. which obviously has gotten from Crayola’s metallic crayon colors.
Well Android names are given once, after a few minor builds of software updates have been thrown to the devices and when the major software changes and updates have to be introduced. With the recent rumour about Bittersweet Shimmer, we guess it’s only a few month delay between two updates if it releases in November or around. It however doesn’t matter about the time period between two updates unless there are major differences and upgrades in features to have a new name.
