Google Nexus 5 vs Apple iPhone 5S – Specs Comparison

Google’s long rumored Nexus 5 has been official now with many more features which have been appreciated for the price Google placed the device at. After seeing the specifications of the new Nexus 5 we just thought to put it beside the latest flagship of Apple, the iPhone 5S.

Looking at straight at key points, which Apple proudly mentioned when announced the new iPhone 5S, the 64-bit chipset and the finger print sensor, they are just not yet found the Google’s latest Nexus 5 smartphone. In fact we do not think that any other manufacturer may even be thinking of such factors to be introduced in their devices.

Instead the major factor other manufacturers have been seeking to put into their smartphones is to enhance the camera and photography capabilities of the phone which has been one of the key factors Nokia has introduced in its smartphones. This one we are talking about the optical image stabilization. Later after HTC, LG has also joined the race with its G2 smartphone. Now the Google Nexus 5 also comes with the optical image stabilization. Unlike that the iPhone 5S in our comparison lack this feature.

The apparent difference in size of pictures of the devices is actual difference we tried to measure according to the dimensions mentioned in their official specifications where Nexus 5 is 2.72” x 5.43”, the iPhone 5 is 2.31” x 4.87”.

Side by side specs chart above shows almost everything you would like to evaluate between two devices. Hardware wise both the devices looks promising and much at a similar level but what makes both the devices highly away from each other is the price factor. The lowest 16GB variant of Apple’s iPhone 5S costs $649 when off-contract where Google’s Nexus 5 is priced only at $349. That’s a huge difference when comparing two devices of almost same caliber.

What make iPhone 5S more tempting are its aluminium and glass build and the exclusive finger print reader ever came in a smartphone with 64-bit chipset. We are more getting down to the Slo-mo feature in its camera that is capable of recording 720p high resolution video at as much frame rate as 120 frames per second.

On the other hand, LG manufactured Nexus 5 for Google Inc is a bit more healthier with its bigger outfit and the full HD display resolution running KitKat flavored Android 4.4 with the power of Quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor. Nexus 5S does have an optical image stabilizer but we can’t give our positive remarks to just an OIS with no other specifications of the camera elements. The major factor of Nexus 5 is of course its price level. For such a hardware pack, $349 in comparison to iPhone 5S’s $649 is just unbelievable.

So we can tell easily here that if you are an Android fan then there is not a best choice out there than the one present in this article. Nexus 5 is the best option for you and that also is in the lowest price.

And if you are one of the Apple league, then you probably will not be waiting for anyone to tell you what is better, iPhone 5S is for you for whatever price it is.
