Along with the Oppo N3, the phone maker also announced its first smartphone Oppo R5 which has happened to be the world’s thinnest one measuring 4.85mm at thickness. It also features 64-bit processor.
Oppo R5 features a 5.2 inch AMOLED display of 1080p resolution sporting pixel density of 423 PPI. The R5 packs in the frame made of aluminium alloy. The company proudly announced that the frame of the R5 is hand-polished. The device measures at 148.9 x 74.5mm and the weighs as 155 grams.
The Oppo R5 is powered by 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 Octa-Core (MSM8939), Adreno 330 GPU, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage and 2000mAh battery. It will come with Android 4.4 pre-built running its own Color OS 2.0. The R5 will be available in Silver and Gold colors.
R5 will sport 13-megapixel Sony Exmor IMX214 BSI sensor as the primary/main camera. 5-megapixel front-facing 83 degree wide angle lens will also be featured. Both of the cameras have f/2.0 aperture opening in lens.
Other camera features include Normal, Ultra-HD, Colorful Night, Slow Shutter, Expert Mode, Beautify, HDR, Panorama, Audio Photo, GIF, Double Exposure, Raw, Super Macro, After Focus. 4K video @ 30 fps, 1080p video @ 60 fps, 720p slow motion video @120 fps.
Oppo R5 will work on 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks and will come in a single SIM version only supporting Micro SIM.
It will be available for $499 in coming months. The price in Pakistan may be around Rs. 52,000/- The availability of the R5 is not yet disclosed however we guess the R5 will be available in China first.
