Microsoft Office is now free for iPad, iPhone and Android

Microsoft Office, the pioneer office productivity suite stood for decades, is now completely free for iPhone, iPad and Android devices. The company announced yesterday that the Office users on said devices will be able to view, create and edit documents in Word, Excel and PowerPoint for free from now on without the need of an Office 365 subscription.

Previously in March, the company announced Office for the iPad and the download of the app has reached 40 million. The company claims and happily shares the fact that their customers were happy with the Office for iPad.

Starting today, the Office apps Word, Excel, and PowerPoint are available for iPhone and the already available apps for the iPad get updates. Alongside the iOS apps, the Microsoft Office is also available for Android tablets as preview. To participate in the preview program you must fill out this form. The company also hinted that the fully touch-optimized version of Office for Windows 10 is in the works.

 

Additionally, the Office 365 subscribers will continue to have full experience of Office on their devices including the features like advanced editing and collaboration capabilities, unlimited OneDrive storage, Dropbox integration etc.
