No wonder, “Nokia” branding is about to be removed from upcoming Lumia devices but it’s not going to be disappeared completely. The company has officially disclosed at Nokia capital markets day that it plans to license its name to third-party manufacturers for their products. Of course those products will not be the smartphones or feature phones as that business has been acquired by Microsoft.
In addition to that announcement, on its twitter account, Nokia has teased with a mysterious black box with the “NOKIA” branding on it. Along side it prints the date of tomorrow – 18.11.14, a teaser text “We’re up to something.” and hashtags #thinkingahead #Slush14.
With this tweet, the Finnish firm gives the hints that it’s up to something that they will disclose tomorrow at the slush conference where Sebastian Nyström – the Head of Product Business at Nokia Technologies, will be presenting “What’s next, Nokia” session.
The device Nokia has teased with, looks pretty like the Apple TV or at least something like a set-top box or TV streamer. Well it could also be a small mini PC box. Or you can guess what’s not a phone at all.
It’s not the first surprising tweet from Nokia today. Since a couple of days, Nokia has been teasing with such tweets as below.
Hello! We’ve got an exciting week planned for you. Are you ready?
