Nokia branded leaked phone with physical T9 keypad – It’s not a smartphone

Two years are about to be past since the Microsoft – Nokia acquisition completed but still the Finish phone maker has its fan base expecting for the company to come back one day in the phone business.

Leading to the fact, rumors are the key elements getting spotted to keep the brand name appear on leaked photos of the phone. The latest addition in the speculation is a handset lying upside down with the Nokia brand name on the back. With no huge expectations, the phone could just be an old feature phone with a fixed T9 keypad below a small screen.

It won’t be appropriate to claim those photos being fake as the pictures indeed looks real when looked in detail. However the time, where we have reached, is not suitable for this kind of phones to get back into business with. So the most probable argument for these photos would be to tell that this phone could be a prototype during or before the Nokia – Microsoft transition.

It could be a phone that may have already been dropped and killed before launch during the transition or otherwise it could be a part of feature phones range from Microsoft which still have their life and get launched by the software giant under the Nokia brand name.

In addition to the T9 keypad on the front side and Nokia branding on the back, there is a camera with an LED. Antenna stripes are also present on the back at top and bottom with a metal-feel on the back. Prototype label is also there as the phone being a property of Nokia which also makes it clear that it’s not at least a Microsoft product to be launched soon.

While the question if Nokia coming back to phone business, or when – has no certain answer as Nokia started licensing program for its brand name with the launch of Nokia N1 Android tablet, it still is the most asked question.

To make it clear, Nokia can not not use its brand name on feature phones until 2024. On the other side, under the agreement made to Microsoft, the Nokia can also not use its brand name on smartphones until the 2015 ends which is just beyond the agreement now but the phone in subject above indeed is not a smartphone.
