TCS, Pakistan’s leading courier delivery service, initiated its Machine Readable Passports service Passport Express on January 6, 2016 in Peshawar.
The launch in Peshawar was preceded by the successful inauguration of the same service in Karachi, Lahore, Rawalpindi and Islamabad. Mr. Usman Akhtar Bajwa, DG Immigration & Passport, was the chief guest at the event.
A Public Sector Development Program initiated by the Government of Pakistan, the TCS Passport Express service will enable the citizens of Pakistan to have their Machine Readable Passports delivered right at their doorsteps.
The move has been executed as a direct result of the government’s mandate to convert manual passports and visas into Machine Readable Passports and visas and have them printed and delivered to their respective owners within the specified time.
The service was initially launched in Islamabad and Rawalpindi in November, after which it was extended to Karachi, Lahore and now, Peshawar. The service is expected to be introduced in Quetta and Muzaffarabad soon, before being extended to the rest of the country.
TCS has guaranteed that the Machine Readable Passports will be dispatched by the MRP Office, safely and securely and will reach the correct person or his authorized representative on the address given, within the stipulated period. TCS representatives consider this as yet another frontier conquered in terms of ensuring maximum customer satisfaction.
