Lumia 530 – “Buy 1, Get 1 Free” Deal in Pakistan, you really should not avail this offer

Announced late 2014, the cheapest Windows Phone of that time from Microsoft, Lumia 530 has gone even cheaper with “Buy 1, Get 1 Free” deal in Pakistan.

Lumia 530’s launch price was Rs. 12,800/- Currently the price is Rs. 10,799/- for two Lumia 530 devices. Lumia 530 serves with 4″ LCD display and offers Snapdragon 200 chipset with Quad-core 1.2GHz and 512MB of RAM. Only 4GB on-board storage with option to expand up to 128GB via microSD card. The phone has 5 megapixels rear camera and no secondary/front-facing camera.

It’s quite an old phone now – probably a year and a half old. Microsoft seems to sell off their remaining stock as soon as possible offering such promotional deals. Let me remind, this is the same deal as offered in UAE for Lumia 530 right after the launch.

Hey! wait. Seriously? are you considering this? Don’t please! Just don’t. If you really want to buy an affordable Windows Phone, get one which can run the latest Windows 10 Mobile. Lumia 530 is not being considered for that for lower RAM.

Our Recommendation

With 1GB of RAM and 4″ display, Lumia 430 has been listed officially for the Windows 10 Mobile upgrade. For a little lower price of Rs. 9,690/- you can get two Lumia 430 devices. In fact, it’s not a deal that you necessarily have to buy a bundle. Instead, you can get a single Lumia 430 for half of price that is Rs. 4,845/- if you want.

Also note that Lumia 430 has Dual-core 1.2GHz processor but share the same Snapdragon 200 chip like 530. You get 1GB of RAM that probably make it eligible for Windows 10 Mobile upgrade. As well the Lumia 430 comes with 8GB of internal storage. However Lumia 430 offers only 2MP fixed-focus rear camera along with a front-facing VGA camera. Lumia 530 camera may give you a little better photos but that’s not enough to consider.

Another option is Lumia 532 (see review) that gives the best of the both phones above for a little higher price tag of Rs. 7,000/- Features include Snapdragon 200 with Quad-core 1.2GHz, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage, 5MP rear camera and VGA front-facing camera.

Buy Lumia 430 or Lumia 530 or Lumia 532, make your choice.
