Sharp announced its Aquos Crystal two years ago with a border less design. The company seems to be pushing more effort in the same design but making it actually attractive this time.
At that time, Aquos Crystal was having the slimmest bezels in a smartphone. However the design wasn’t so cool to attract consumer as well as underlying hardware wasn’t that impressive. The Japanese have brought now an actual impressive bezel-less design with the concept phone called Corner R.
The Corner R takes advantage of the company’s Free-Form Display technology that allows IGZO LCD panels to be cut into various shapes and sizes that help making extremely narrow borders or in fact completely invisible ones as you can see in the images. Concept R features a 5.2-inch 1080p resolution display panel.
Sharp is currently having difficulties with its Free-Form Displays moving from a trade show to actual consumer market but this concept device is looking truly compact and beautiful to be handed. For now, unfortunately, it is just a concept and is not going to be sold in markets but you may wait for it.
