YouTube now supports 4K Live Streaming for standard and 360-degree videos

Allowing content creators to broadcast high-res video content, YouTube has now added 4K live streaming support on the largest video sharing platform. That is, to broadcast live with 360-degree high-res videos as well as standard videos.

In an announcement, the company has disclosed that starting today users will be able to stream both the standard and 360-degree videos in as much high-resolution as 4K – that too with 60 frames per second.

Sure YouTube is top in video hosting but there have been new platforms like facebook and twitter who also started to host videos. Twitch on the other hand focused extremely at the live streaming high-resolution content, and that’s what going to be hurt with YouTube’s latest announcement.

Viewers on the other side can watch this year’s edition of The Game Awards in all its new UHD format on Youtube, on December 1st, 8:30 PM ET (that’s tomorrow 6:30 AM PKT, in Pakistan)

“Back in 2010, we enabled 4K video support for the very first time. Since then, millions of videos have been uploaded at that eye-popping resolution, making YouTube’s the largest library of 4K videos online. Today, we’re proud to say that we’re taking 4K video one step further with the launch of 4K live streaming for both 360-degree videos and standard videos.”
