Huawei Mate 9 Matte Black now Available

Huawei has now launched an Matte Black edition of the Mate 9 in Pakistan. Previously the Huawei flagship smartphone was available in champagne gold, moca gold, moonlight silver, space grey.

It’s worth mentioning here that Mate 9 is currently available in Pakistan for PKR. 66,950/- decreased from approximately 70k when first launched in the country. However the latest edition of Matte black version in the Mate 9 family will cost you the original price as PKR. 69,899/- at least for the time being. Expect it to decrease in coming weeks just like Huawei’s approach of cutting off prices.

Huawei Mate 9 has a 5.9″ IPS display with full HD 1080p resolution and a 2.5D curved glass on the screen. The phablet features proprietary Kirin 960 octa-core processor – four cores of ARM Cortex-A73 2.4GHz and four cores of Cortex-A53 1.8GHz. The phone equips with ARM’s Mali-G71 MP8 GPU built on company’s Bifrost GPU architecture for high-end gaming and specially the mobile VR.

In addition the Mate 9 has 4GB of RAM along with 64GB of internal storage (UFS 2.1) which can be expanded via microSD card. Mate 9 runs the latest iteration of Android OS with version 7.0 Nougat and Huawei’s best software layer on top – EMUI 5.0. the “Huawei Mate 9 re-imagines the native Android operating system using Linux to improve the experience, aesthetics and functionality.”

Mate 9 also features the dual-camera configuration exactly as the setup as in Huawei P9. However Mate 9 comes with upgrades like 20 megapixel camera with monochrome sensor underneath and a 12 megapixel camera with RGB sensor. Both cameras have similar lens with f/2.2 aperture and optical image stabilization. Autofocus is hybrid with phase detection, laser, depth map and contrast detection. Along side a dual-LED flash is also present.

The most impressive and ground breaking feature (which you can say to please) of the device is its adaptive ability and machine learning algorithm.  It predicts user behavior and customized phone resources allocation which will help it retain its high speed over time as opposed to slowing down like all regular smartphones.

What’s so special with Matte Black?

The sandblasted texture on Mate 9’s body is what gives the Matte finish. Huawei constructed it using 50 unique processes.  The unibody metal frame is a result of one hour of CNC milling.

The pre-bookings for this Matte black version of Mate 9 have started. You can book yours at any Huawei brand outlet or from the online retailer daraz. The product page on daraz.pk is temporarily unavailable, you can check back later.
