iPhone 8 expected to start at $850 for 64GB to $1,000 for 256GB

As already speculated, more input comes about the high-valued upcoming iPhone 8 – aka the anniversary iPhone. The recent report suggests that the base 64GB model of iPhone 8 may cost between $850 and $900  – according to an analyst. Whereas the max-storage model of the iPhone 8 with 256GB may cost around $1000.

Other rumors also contain elements of the screen size as iPhone 8 may have like 5.8 inch display. The analyst, Steven Milunovich of UBS believes that Apple will adopt similar pricing as Samsung. However Samsung’s Galaxy S8+ with the screen size of 6.2-inch starts at $850.

Even though, Apple never discloses the RAM used in their iPhones, Galaxy S8+ has a model running at $1030 but has as large RAM as 6GB only available in China. Apple’s iPhone 8 might cost around this price tag sure leading to the fact if Apple wanted to keep the prices aligned with Samsung’s.

If a variant of an iPhone 8, supposedly 256GB storage, sells for $1000, it will be the first Apple smartphone calling for four-digit price – in dollars of course. According to Milunovich, the said model of iPhone 8 may cost between $950 and $1000.

Considering the iPhone 8 as a luxury or premium one, iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus are expected to be mainstream models starting at $649 and $749 respectively. These, however, are the similar prices as from previous year’s iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus.

In another note, the factory cost of supposedly named iPhone 8 could be $70 to $90 higher than last year’s iPhone 7 Plus. As there is no named or unnamed source is referred, you must take these prices only an assumption based on previous prices and the latest factory costs.

Other features of iPhone 8, as emerged in speculations, suggest that there will be no physical home button an iPhone. It will feature wireless charging, 3D facial recognition, iris scanner. It will also have reduced bezels around the edges with an edge-to-edge OLED display which is supposed to be similar to Galaxy S8.
