OPPO launched its F3 smartphone focused on dual-front camera for selfie lovers yesterday in Pakistan. The phone costs Rs. 34,899/- and will be available from May 13th. If you have any interest, you can pre-order right away and get chance to see the final of the ICC Champions trophy live in London.
OPPO F3 has a metal rear panel with the plastic top/bottom panels on the back. The phone has a 5.5 inch FHD in-cell display and weighs 153 grams. OPPO F3 is equipped with a MediaTek MT6750T Octa-core processor, 4 GB RAM and 64 GB ROM.

The phone runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow with the propriety ColorOS 3.0 on top. The embedded triple-slot card tray allows two nano-SIM cards and a microSD card to work simultaneously. So you don’t need to sacrifice a SIM place for a microSD card.
The OPPO F3 features a dual selfie camera – a 16-megapixel Selfie camera for individual selfies and an 8-megapixel camera with wide-angle lens for group selfies on the front. On the back, the phone hosts a 13 megapixels camera which also has a 1/3 inch sensor format inside.
The F3 supports a fingerprint reader for security purposes like many other smartphones now do. The phone is backed by 3200mAh battery which according to company’s rating lasts for more than 15 hours.
OPPO F3 has a metal back panel with the matching top and bottom covers built with plastic. It’s common with most of the mid-range smartphones. For the purpose, these plastic areas serves as a clear path to antennas inside the phone.
The display is reflective enough to disturb viewing with a little above-average lighting condition. However it’s large with 5.5 inch screen and 1080 resolution which is more than enough for a mid-range smartphone today.
The glass on the front is 2.5D curved on all sides and interestingly, it’s Gorilla Glass 5 to protect from daily based scratches.
The two camera units can be seen right at the top on – left of the earpiece. Both are unusually apart but one is bigger – the 16-MP sensor inside, the smaller one has an 8-MP sensor. With f/2.0 aperture lenses, the smaller camera has wide-angle lens for group selfies.
At the lower part of the front, you get rounded-rectangle home button with back-lit app switcher and back key on either sides of the home button (according to official docs.) The home button also has an embedded fingerprint scanner.
On the back you have a 13 megapixels camera which also has a 1/3 inch sensor format inside. OPPO claims that it is able to maximize light sensitivity, making for wonderful nighttime performance. The camera has phase detect autofocus (PDAF) technology that makes the shooting experience speedy and fluid.
“OPPO” branding can also be seen a little above the middle point.
Coming over at controls and components, the right side of the phone hosts only a power button. Volume rocker is on the left side.
Dual SIM slot is also on the right, and it’s three slot tray to support both the SIM cards along with a microSD card for storage expansion.
Top side of the phone only features a secondary mic for noise cancellation and stereo audio recording. The primary mic is at the bottom side.
Right at the bottom, there’s speaker grill and a 3.5mm audio jack along with the micro USB port which is currently occupied in above photo.
The phones were secured at the display so we couldn’t try it at some extent but the native camera interface was indeed extensively designed with professional controls as well. The phone runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with ColorOS 3.0.
As far as first impressions, this mid-range smartphone is good with its outfit. Handling is nice but the plastic edges are not so secure to be protected from scratches. Soon we’ll bring you an in-depth review of the device soon.
