Transsion Holdings’ Infinix Mobility has launched Zero 5 smartphone in global event held in Dubai. The new Infinix Zero 5 joins the league of dual-camera smartphones and brings 6GB RAM to mid-range.
Infinix Zero 5 has a metal unibody design with a camera section resembling Huawei P9’s but not exactly. On the front, the IPS display serves with FHD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels across the 5.98-inch screen. Infinix claims 85% NTSC color gamut and 500 nits brightness at maximum. The figures make it to serve you with the pixel density of 368ppi on a 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass 3.
Even though the company joined the dual-camera bandwagon, you will have to have the old large bezels on top and bottom of the screen. With about six-inch screen you are gonna have a pretty big phone in your hands.
There’s an octa-core processor – MediaTek Helio P25 MT6757, powering the Zero 5, along with support of massive 6 GB of RAM for a mid-range flagship phone. The phone features 64 GB of internal storage as well which is pretty much competitive among the class. The company has also launched another variant, dubbed Infinix Zero 5 Pro which is identical in all aspects but with higher storage capacity of 128 GB.
The dual-camera setup – first on an Infinix smartphone, features a primary 12-megapixel unit of Sony IMX386 which is a standard wide angle camera with f/2.0 lens aperture. It’s paired with a secondary 13-megapixel telephoto camera with lens aperture of f/2.6. The latter will provide a 2x optical zoom. On the front, there is a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 lens aperture an front-facing flash.
The camera works with multiple frames for noise reduction – that is to take multiple shots quickly and combine them to reduce noise. Infinix claims that it will “ensure perfect shots even when taking pictures at night”.
With a 4350mAh large battery, Zero 5 runs Android 7.0 Nougat with proprietary XOS skin on top. There’s a fingerprint scanner on the back and interestingly the USB Type-C is a great addition too. 4G/LTE supports VoLTE, WiFi and Bluetooth are also there along side the GPS and 3.5mm audio jack. Last but least, the dual-SIM phone comes with expandable storage via microSD card slot.
Infinix Zero 5 is priced INR 17,999 in India for 64GB model and will be available in three colors Sandstone Black, Champagne Gold and Bordeaux Red. Zero 5 Pro with 128GB storage will cost INR 19,999 and will also be available in three but different colors – Bronze, Gold, and Black.
