OPPO Find X, next in line with a popup camera but more fancier and fragile

OPPO has launched its flagship OPPO Find X that boasts 93.8% screen-to-body ratio with almost no-bezels, no-chin and no-notch on top. It rather features a motorized module that pops-up from within the body and carries everything like rear camera and front-facing camera along with all those sensors you usually have on other smartphones.

OPPO Find X comes sooner after the recent launch of Vivo NEX which has offers the similar concept with similarly minimal bezels and a pop-up camera. Just recall it with also almost similar 91.2% screen-to-body ratio but the NEX only featured the little pop-up module with a selfie-camera.

Find X, on the other hand, brings a lot the system components on that pop-up tray. The 25-megapixel selfie camera is there on the front side of the module along with all the iPhone X like components including Dot projector,  ranging sensor, flood illuminator and infrared camera. Yes for the same purpose – the Face recognition. Unfortunately, Find X gives up on a fingerprint scanner as well like iPhone X.

Unlike Vivo NEX has a Screen SoundCasting technology in place of an earpiece, the Find X still adds that traditional earpiece into the same moving part of the phone.

The same pop-up module also hosts the rear dual-camera, a pair of 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel cameras. As you can see the whole motorized module covers the full width of the phone unlike the one we recently saw in Vivo NEX. However, they both work the same way – open the camera app and the module will be out within a second.

The phone features a large 6.4-inch AMOLED display with a stunning 93% screen-to-body ratio. It’s FHD+ resolution serving on a 19.5:9 aspect ratio screen with approximately 400 ppi. On top there is Gorilla Glass 5.

From inside, the OPPO Find X is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chipset with the octa-core processor – four cores of each Kryo 385 Gold and Silver clocked at 2.8GHz and 1.7GHz respectively. It’s bundled with the Adreno 630 Graphics processor. There is only one option to buy that is with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The phone runs Android 8.1 Oreo and is backed by 3730mAh battery. There is no fingerprint scanner but the phone supports fast charging via USB Type-C connectivity.

OPPO has not announced the pricing but the phone will first be available in Chinese markets. However the Find X is also set for global release including North America.
